1. Agreement to these terms

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the ai.butler mobile application and related services (the "Service"), operated by Yeowly Limited ("ai.butler", "we", "us", "our"), a company registered in England and Wales (company no. 17454197), registered office: Millhouse, 32-38 East Street, Rochford, Essex, United Kingdom, SS4 1DB. By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, don't use the Service.

You must be at least 16 years old to use ai.butler. By using the Service, you confirm that you meet this requirement. See our Privacy Policy for how we handle this.

2. The Service

ai.butler helps you plan meals, discover recipes, compare grocery prices, and — where you choose to connect a supported grocery retailer — complete checkout for the items on your list. Grocery search and price comparison are available to all users free of charge; AI-assisted meal planning and other Pro features are available on a subscription basis (see §4). Some features are powered by third-party AI providers — see our Privacy Policy for details on what's shared with them. Meal plans and recipes are suggestions, not professional dietary or medical advice — see §8.

We may add, change, or remove features over time. We'll try to give notice of material changes that affect how you use the Service, but we don't guarantee that any specific feature will always be available.

3. Your account

You need an account to use most of the Service. You can create one with an email/password, or Google or Apple sign-in.
You're responsible for keeping your login credentials secure and for all activity under your account.
The information you give us at sign-up and in your profile (dietary preferences, allergies, etc.) must be accurate to your knowledge — we rely on it to filter recipe recommendations, and inaccurate allergy information could result in unsafe recommendations. See §8.
You can delete your account at any time from Settings → Privacy → Delete Account. This permanently removes your account and associated data, as described in our Privacy Policy.
We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms, misuse the Service, or if required by law.

4. Subscriptions and free trial

New Pro subscriptions include a 3-day free trial, as shown in the app at sign-up.
Unless you cancel before the trial ends, your subscription begins automatically and you will be charged via the App Store or Google Play (through our billing partner, RevenueCat), according to the plan you selected.
You can manage or cancel your subscription at any time through your Apple ID or Google Play account settings. Cancelling stops future renewals — it does not refund the current billing period, except where required by law.
Prices are shown in the app and may vary by region and platform.
We do not process or store your payment card details — these are handled directly by Apple, Google, or RevenueCat.

5. Connecting a grocery retailer account

If you choose to connect a supported grocery retailer (e.g. Asda) to enable checkout through ai.butler:

You're granting ai.butler permission to act on your behalf on that retailer's site for the specific purpose of completing the checkout you initiate.
We keep you signed in to that retailer via a stored session, not by storing your retailer password.
You can disconnect a store at any time, which ends that session immediately.
Your relationship with the retailer (pricing, delivery, returns, order accuracy) is governed by that retailer's own terms — ai.butler is not the seller and is not responsible for the retailer's fulfilment of your order.
We're not affiliated with, endorsed by, or acting as agent for any grocery retailer beyond the checkout-automation function described here.

Prices, product availability, and stock shown in ai.butler are estimates sourced from third-party supermarkets and may change without notice. We do not guarantee the accuracy of prices at checkout.

6. AI-generated content

Meal plans, recipes, and recommendations in ai.butler are generated with the help of third-party AI services. This means:

Suggestions may occasionally be inaccurate, repetitive, or not fully aligned with your stated preferences — always use your own judgment, especially around allergies and dietary restrictions (see §8).
We don't guarantee that any recipe or meal plan is nutritionally complete, medically appropriate, or suitable for any specific health condition.
Your conversation with the meal-planning assistant is processed to generate these recommendations and, if you choose, stored so you can resume it later — see our Privacy Policy for details.

7. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

Use the Service for any unlawful purpose, or in a way that violates any applicable law or regulation.
Attempt to access another user's account, or interfere with the Service's security, availability, or integrity (e.g. scraping, reverse engineering, automated abuse).
Use the retailer-checkout feature to place orders you don't intend to pay for, or in a way that violates the connected retailer's own terms.
Impersonate another person or provide false information at sign-up, including about your age.

We may suspend or terminate access for violations of this section.

8. Health and safety disclaimer

ai.butler is not a medical, nutritional, or dietary advice service. The allergy and dietary-preference filtering we offer is a tool to help reduce the chance of an unwanted ingredient appearing in your recommendations — it is not a guarantee, and it depends on the accuracy of the information you provide and the limitations of the underlying recipe data and AI models.

If you or someone you're cooking for has a serious allergy or medical dietary requirement, always independently verify ingredients before consuming any recipe or product suggested through the Service. Do not rely on ai.butler as your sole safeguard against an allergic reaction or adverse health event.

9. Intellectual property

The ai.butler app, its design, and its underlying software are owned by Yeowly Limited and protected by applicable intellectual property laws. These Terms don't grant you any rights to our trademarks, branding, or source code.
Content you create in the Service (e.g. custom shopping lists, saved recipes you've edited) remains yours. By using the Service, you grant us a licence to store and process that content solely to provide the Service to you.
Recipe and product data displayed in the app may be sourced from third-party providers and remains subject to those providers' own rights.

10. Disclaimers and limitation of liability

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available". To the fullest extent permitted by law:

We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that recipe/meal-plan suggestions will meet your specific needs or preferences.
We are not liable for the accuracy, completeness, or safety of third-party content (recipe data, AI-generated suggestions, retailer pricing/availability).
We are not liable for issues arising from a connected grocery retailer's own actions — incorrect orders, delivery problems, pricing errors — as we act only as a checkout-automation tool on your instruction.
To the extent permitted by law, our total liability to you for any claim arising from your use of the Service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim (or £60, if you have not paid us anything).

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law (e.g. for death, personal injury caused by negligence, or fraud), or any statutory rights you have as a consumer under the UK Consumer Rights Act 2015 that cannot lawfully be excluded.

11. Changes to the Service or these Terms

We may update these Terms as the Service evolves. We'll update the "Last updated" date above when we do, and where a change is material, we'll notify you in-app before it takes effect. Continuing to use the Service after a change takes effect means you accept the updated Terms.

12. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any disputes will be resolved in the courts of England and Wales, except where applicable consumer-protection law gives you the right to bring a claim in your own country of residence.
